Indications

Cardorite 20 is indicated for the treatment of high blood cholesterol.

For adults and children over 6 years old:

Primary hypercholesterolemia (Type IIa, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia) or mixed dyslipidemia (Type IIb) when non-pharmacological measures to lower cholesterol are inadequate.
Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia when non-pharmacological cholesterol-lowering measures are insufficient.

Patients with elevated serum triglycerides (Type IV).

Used in combination with diet for patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III).

Used in combination with diet for patients with progressive atherosclerosis.

Prevention of cardiovascular complications.

Primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases in patients who are clinically asymptomatic for coronary heart disease but are at high cardiovascular risk, helping to reduce the incidence of stroke and myocardial infarction.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

Pregnant women.

Breastfeeding women.

Patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min).

Patients with active liver disease, including those with persistent unexplained elevations of serum transaminases or elevations exceeding 3 times the upper limit of normal.

Patients with muscle disorders.

Patients taking ciclosporin.

The 40mg (4 tablets) dosage is contraindicated in the following cases:

Moderate renal impairment with creatinine clearance < 60 mL/min.

History of muscle disorders associated with statin or fibrate use.

Hypothyroidism.

Patients currently taking fibrates.

Alcoholics.
